Review: Remote (2010)

First I´d like to thank Marc Roussel for making a online screener available to me.
On a cold February night, Matt (Ron Basch) loses his cable signal during a severe snowstorm. He's left with channel after channel of static, until he comes across a station that is the mirror image of his apartment, but 30 years in the past. He soon discovers that he can communicate with Justine (Sarah Silverthorne), the young woman residing in the apartment on the television. As the two get to know each other, Matt discovers that Justine died on that very night 30 years ago. Can he change her fate? Remote is written and directed by Marc Roussel. Good pacing, some really tense scenes, good performances from the cast, nice setting, a couple of interesting and good twists. It´s professionally shot and edited. The plot is perfectly suited for the short film format, actually I´m doubful that it had worked this good if it had a longer running time than the current 20 minutes. There is some gore, practical fx, but nothing extreme.
This review is based upon a passwordprotected online source provided by director of the film.
Rating. 7 out of 7. Remote is a really nice surprise and yet again proves that good things comes in small packages (short films). It´s entertaining, tense and well made! Highly recommended so check it out.
